What is Laminate Flooring?
What is laminate flooring?
Floormaker Laminate flooring is a multi-layer flooring material made from wood fibers designed to most closely replicate natural wood material. Using low-pressure short cycle technology, "three papers and one material" are hot pressed into shape in one go at a temperature of 195 ° C.
Wear-resistant layer:The wear-resistant layer is a clear surface made of evenly distributed aluminum oxide, which plays a role in wear resistance, waterproofing, stain resistance, and other daily conditions.
Decorative layer:Decorative has a variety of styles, imitating the natural patterns of wood or some stone patterns.
Core layer:It contains over 80% wood and is used as a core board, with strong structural strength and high durability. Laminate flooring is an excellent choice in damp areas because its core layer can provide moisture resistance.
The balance layer:Plays a fundamental role. It provides strength and stability, keeping the board straight. This layer is responsible for protecting the bottom floor and the laminate itself. In addition, it has strong moisture-proof and waterproof properties.
How to make laminated flooring?
Direct Pressure Laminate:It is the most common method of making laminated flooring.Wear resistant paper, decorative paper, HDF substrate board, and balance paper are formed by hot pressing in one go.The finished panel will be conveyed to cooling shelf one by one.
After pressing,in order to adapt to the temperature and humidity of the factory, it is necessary to place the wooden boards for one week.
Cutting:According to the length and width specifications of finished floor production, add 10-11mm processing allowance respectively, and cut a single floor strip according to this size of large plate.
After cutting the floor, it also needs to place in the factory for seven days.
Wax:Finally, wax sealing treatment should be applied to the groove to improve moisture resistance and reduce formaldehyde emissions.
What are the advantages of Laminate flooring?
The highly resistance protective surface layer makes the laminated floor have functions such as wear resistance, compression resistance.
There are various locks and slots available.Laminated flooring uses a locking system that is easy and convenient to connect, including UNILIN and VALINE.T- groove, U- groove, V- groove.
Laminated flooring is a large-scale production that can perfectly replicate the texture of wood, making it an economical alternative to solid wood flooring.
The surface of the laminated floor adopts a hard sealing treatment, which is easy to clean and maintain. The sturdy and tight locking system can prevent stains and dust from accumulating between the floors, just a mop and vacuum cleaner are needed.
Due to their waterproof properties, the expansion of laminate flooring is minimal. Therefore, they work very well in the kitchen. Due to the tighter seams, the joints of the wooden boards are very tight, ensuring good surface stability. The height difference has decreased, forming a beautiful and flat surface.
You can choose whether to seal the wax treatment, as the sealed laminated floor can further reduce the water absorption expansion rate and formaldehyde release.
